Are African Americans really targeted by the police?
African Americans are twice as likely to be killed by a police officer while unarmed, compared to whites. African American men are much more likely to get longer jail time for a minor crime or to be killed by police. This is because of racial profiling, the act of suspecting a person to be guilty of a crime because of the color of their skin.
